A classification of thin shell theories

This paper gives a modern mathematical analysis of the relationships between several, different linear shell theories. It also discusses the asymptotic role played by membrane theory. It presents theorems on the existence and uniqueness of solutions of membrane equations depending on the concavity of the surface.

Synthesis of dihydroxylated polyamines from an erythronolactone

The opening of protected erythronolactone by an amine or a diamine furnished hydroxy-amides. Their multistep functional conversion led to either selectively protected or free dihydroxy-polyamines.     

Sur la forme de Seifert entière des germes de courbe plane à deux branches

Module d'oscillation fonctionnel de quelques processus réels

In this Note we give the almost sure rate of uniform approach of Strassen functions by increments of empirical, quantile, Poisson, Wiener and Partial sums processes. Microstructured fibers with highly nonlinear materials

We investigated the effect of modification of silica with high concentrations of germanium up to 36 mol% as well as with highly polarizable dopants (e.g., barium and lanthanum) on optical behavior of microstructured fibers. The goal was to investigate the influence of doping on several properties like fiber attenuation, supercontinuum generation and birefringence in microstructured optical fibers (MOF).     

Analysis and identification of a social interaction model

In this paper, we present a model of social interaction systems. By comparing it with existing analytical models, and using simulations, we focus on dynamical behavior and interaction properties of this nonlinear time-varying system. The system's behavior can be predicted if we have sufficient knowledge of system parameters such as the connection matrix. Observation of system behavior can be useful to recover the unknown or insufficiently known levels of interaction strength. Furthermore, if proper sampling can be carried out, the system can be identified. This model is suitable for investigating social phenomena such as the fashion phenomenon.     

On rigid displacements and their relation to the infinitesimal rigid displacement lemma in three-dimensional elasticity

Let $\text{Ω}$ be an open connected subset of $\text{R}{}^3$ and let $\text{Θ}$ be an immersion from $\text{Ω}$ into $\text{R}{}^3$. It is established that the set formed by all rigid displacements of the open set $\text{Θ}\text{(Ω)}$ is a submanifold of dimension 6 and of class $\text{C}{}^{\mathrm{\infty }}$ of the space $\text{H}{}^1\text{(Ω)}$. It is also shown that the infinitesimal rigid displacements of the same set $\text{Θ}\text{(Ω)}$ span the tangent space at the origin to this submanifold. To cite this article: P.G. Ciarlet, C.
